Billing and licences
How a licence is bought, what happens before it is paid for, and how it moves between people. The terms of service are the binding version.
How is Helmsly licensed?
Per seat, in euro, in four licences.

Workspaces pay the same per seat, with 15 percent off from 10 seats and 25 percent off from 50 seats.

No VAT is added to these prices, because the seller is not VAT registered.
30-day trial, no card and no charge. Seat changes prorate both ways. No refunds beyond statutory rights.

Do I pay Slobal for model usage?
No. Helmsly is BYO-LLM: you bring your own model keys.

What do I get before I pay anything?
Local use needs no account and no licence, and any account can start one thirty day trial.

What if a payment is late?
The licence lapses.

- 30 days, 14 days, 7 days and 1 day
- When it lapses
- Remote access stops. A session open at that moment ends within a minute, on a dated page that says why rather than on a sign-in page
- Your own machine
- An activated local install keeps verifying offline, so a billing event does not switch it off
- Paying the period
- At any time, by email or from the workspace admin console, to bring it back
What happens to a personal account that stays unpaid?
It goes dormant. It is not deleted, and you have two years to come back.

- We withdraw the account's connection to our relay, and that is all we withdraw
- Your install
- Keeps its data on your own machine, keeps working, and its local activation keeps verifying there with no network at all
- Coming back
- Sign in and renew at any point, and the same machine comes straight back with nothing reset
- If two years pass
- We delete the record and the install is instructed to delete the account's data
- Emails beforehand
- 90 days, 30 days and 7 days
The privacy policy carries the full retention rules.
How do I cancel?
Email support@slobal.com at any time, or use the licences page in your workspace admin console if you are a workspace admin. Cancelling stops future periods; it does not refund the period already running, except where consumer law says otherwise. The licence keeps working until the period you have already paid for ends, and closing a personal account is a separate step from cancelling a licence.
Can a seat move to a different person?
Yes. A seat is a named person, and the names in the seats are yours to change.

How many seats can I buy?
Any number from one.

What billing information does Slobal hold?

- Workspace name, company name, licence orders, seats and their payment state

- Taken by Stripe, which holds the card details

- Calculated by Stripe Tax from your billing address and added at checkout

- Order records stay in our ledger, because commercial records must be kept
The privacy policy lists everything held and the reason for each item.
Is Slobal software open source?
Slobal does not publish its products as open source, and nothing on this site claims otherwise: Helmsly is licensed per named seat. What you get instead is self-hosting and verifiability.
