What is Helmsly?

A self-hosted control plane for AI agent fleets, run from one console on a machine you choose. It runs Claude, Codex, Gemini and any agent CLI side by side, keeps your data on that machine, and stays reachable from anywhere through the Slobal relay.

Which models and agent tools can I run in it?

One console runs Claude, Codex, Gemini and any agent CLI side by side. You can use a subscription you already hold, or bring other models. Helmsly is BYO-LLM: you supply your own model keys, and there is no per-token charge from Slobal. What the model provider charges you is between you and them.

Where does my data live?

On your machine. Helmsly is local-first: sessions, memory and files stay on the machine you run it on, and Slobal does not receive the content your instance works with. The short list of what Slobal does hold is in the privacy policy.

Can I reach my instance when I am away from that machine?

Yes. Remote access runs through the Slobal relay to your own instance, so the same panel opens on any screen at your workspace address, {workspace}.on.slobal.com. The relay carries that traffic as a pipe, addressed to your instance, and your files are not copied to us on the way through. A personal account reaches its own paired hub the same way, from slobal.com/helmsly.

Can I stop an agent before it does something risky?

Yes. Work that needs a person waits in Approvals, and nothing risky runs until you approve it. The built-in browser shows the pages an agent is working through live, and you can take over at any time. Because the console runs on your own machine, the decision and the record of it stay there, with the rest of your data.

Is anything removed before a model sees it?

Helmsly carries a data protection layer that scrubs content on your own machine, before any model sees it. Because that happens locally, what the layer removes never leaves the machine at all: it does not travel to the model provider you have connected, and Slobal does not receive the content your instance works with in any case.

Who looks after the machine Helmsly runs on?

You do. The software is self-hosted, so the machine, its backups, the third-party model services you connect and their terms, and the lawfulness of what you and your agents do with it are your responsibility. The terms of service set this out in full.
